History of the Rancho Mirage community association (RMCA)

Over nine decades of development, Magnesia Falls Cove homes were organized into 14 distinct units/sections each governed by its own set of CC&R’s.

In 2018, a deep dive into those CC&R’s revealed that although documents cited the RMCA as the HOA governing organization, a small number of such documents were not officially signed-off by the developers of decades past.

With this discovery, in 2021 the RMCA Board voted to transition into a voluntary community organization, with no dues required.

Ultimately, it became evident that the HOA’s legal structure no longer served our evolving needs, leading to the formal dissolution of the Rancho Mirage Community Association (RMCA) in 2023.

We extend our gratitude to all of you for your support, volunteerism and participation in the past three years. It was heartwarming to witness neighbors connect through various hikes in Tahquitz, Murray, Andreas and Palm Canyons. The first Magnesia Falls Cove Modernism Tours, featuring seven of our lovely mid-century modern homes, was a great success, delighting 400 midcentury architecture enthusiasts and strengthening neighborly bonds. Over 80 neighborhood volunteers made that event possible!

As for what the future holds, with enough community support and involvement, a new non-profit entity may emerge. This would enable continued opportunities to build neighborhood connections, share information, offer volunteer experiences and advocate for our community.

Thank You,

Deborah Lazio

RMCA outgoing Board President
